A couple of weeks ago I went to fresh market in Towson to pick up some cod. There were two pieces left and I asked if they were fresh because they looked a little strange to me. They told me they had just come that day. When I got to the register, the cashier said to me that this fish does not smell right to her, and that it was funny because she could smell it through the plastic wrap and the paper wrap. The cashier went to the back to the fish department about the fish and asked that they give me some different pieces because that didn’t smell right. I was so grateful to her. Her name was Bree. I have to say this is the first time I’ve experienced this at this market. Normally, they have a wonderful seafood department, but on this day that was not the situation thanks again to Bre!

Grocery store junkie here. Yes the store is a bit more expensive but for an overall shopping experience, the Dulaney Road store is 8/10. Great selection of fruit, vegetables and prepared foods. Lovely meat section. My favorite item in the store is their whole milk from Jersey cows ( dark red label). The store plays classical music at reasonable volume which doesn’t detract from shopping experience. Staff are very pleasant and don’t act like it’s a bother to assist you. Check out staff take your cart and scan items from cart to bag. What a novel idea!!!! Parking is a hassle. I don’t go there on weekends if at all possible. I’ve also been to the Rehobeth location. Very nice too.

This is just one example of my frustration with this store: This morning I went on this store's web page and found three bakery sale items that looked good. I ordered them and let them know that I would pick them up at a certain time after work. A bit later, I received an order confirmation "receipt" and an invitation to let them know when I was on my way. I received no more messages before I left to pick up. When I arrived at the store, I parked as close as I could to a tall pole that had a sign with "curbside pickup" written on it. It used my phone to inform them that I had arrived, where I was parked, what my car looked like, and my license plate number. I waited for about 15 minutes and then received a message that confirmed my receipt of the goods. Confused, I went into the store and asked for my order. Someone found a bag with my name on it and gave it to me. I noticed that I had only received one of the three items ordered. First, I was told that someone had tried to bring me my order but could not find me (parked just outside the entrance). After seeing advertisements for The Fresh Market’s Bistro Meals that they offer on Thursdays for $5.00, we decided to check them out. You get to choose one entrée and two sides. What a delightful surprise to find that at the Deli counter, they had a selection of over 7 different entrees and 6 different sides – all freshly prepared and looking delicious. My husband decided on 2 generous-size portions of Flank Steak accompanied by mashed potatoes and an arancini. In addition to the Bistro Meals, they also offer a selection of prepared Sushi at $5.00. I decided on the California Rolls, which was 10 rolls with fresh ginger and wasabi. The Bistro Meals are quick and easy. You just take them home and heat them up – no fuss, no muss. So, if you are looking for an inexpensive dinner for a Thursday night – go to The Fresh Market – you will not be disappointed.

Always welcoming and clean with outstanding customer service on every visit. Great for bakery items. It's like going to a cookie shop with a galore of various desserts, several types of breads, nothing. FYI - They carry lard. I didn't look at the ingredients. If you're into candy, they have a candy shop, too. They also have a variety Michael's of Brooklyn pasta sauce. This was a beautiful find because it's rare to see more than their gravy and Marinara Sauce. Their produce is usually awful rotting or wilted. They don't have vast organic options. I'm never too crazy about their meat or seafood departments. FYI - Location on Quarry Lane is a better option. Their produce is much better.
